my father died and he never changed the title to a house that was willed to him where do I start to put the house in my mothers name

There can be an informal probate done or maybe even a quiet title action if your mother and father were living in the house for 10 years paying the property taxes and there is no lender who may have a lien on it. Either way, I recommend getting an attorney.
