poa

mother is in nursing home with advanced alheizemers, to become poa how do i get past the form being notorized?

To get Power of Attorney, the person granting the power (your mother) would have to be of sound mind at the time she signs it. It would have to be notarized. The nursing home likely has someone who is a notary.

If your mother has alzheimer's and is unable to sign due to not being of sound mind, you would have to petition a court to be named Guardian of her. This would replace the poa.
