Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

Can I re-file for divorce in another county if my trial has been postponed indef

My wife filed for divorce over a year ago. We recieved a court date this past summer but our attorneys could not agree to the date. We recieved another for October 7th but the judge postponed because he has cancer. They did not give us another date. Due to this my attorney resigned. I no longer live in the county where my wife filed originally. Can I file for divorce in the county where I currently live? Or do I have to simply wait around for the court to contact me about setting up another date?

You may be able to have the case transferred to another county. You cannot simply refile in another county unless the first case is dismissed. You listed your zip as 72701. Is that where you are now or where the case is? (I don't know of any of our judges having cancer)

In any event, you need to have your atty contact the Court and set a date. If you have no Atty at this time, you need to get one.
