Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

visitation rights

My husband has a child from a previous relationship (no marriage)He pays child support but the childs mother will not let us see her except when she wants money or for her birthday or Christmas (gift holidays) I do not think that in the initial case for child support that visitation was set up. Do we have to take her to court to get scheduled visitation or is there a way to just contact someone like the child support office? What steps would we need to take? Thank You!

Re: visitation rights

If visitation has not been set then you will have to go to court to get specific visitation. The child support office cannot help with visitation. You need a family law attorney. Be aware that if you ask for specific visitation then the other side may ask that more child support be paid if the payor is making more money now.
