Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

My previous landlord is witholding my deposit on the grounds of no 30 day notice given, even though i have an email from the rental company stating reciept of 30 day notice. We stayed thru the terms of the lease and left property in better condition then it was in when we moved in. What can i do ?

I suggest a demand letter under Civil Code section 1950.5 for payment by a due date. If not done, then file in small claims for your deposit and statutory damages against the former landlord.
