i asked for an extension to file my opening brief, it was due 4 days ago. i got a reply back, and they denied it, does this mean that my case is dismissed in the appellate court , los angeles

If your time to file the opening brief, which is due

30 days after filing of the record, has expired, then

the court sends a notice that you have 15 days to file

the brief or, unless good cause is shown, the appeal

will be dismissed. So you may have the additional

15 days left. Did you get an agreement from your

opponent about the extension? If not, ask, and maybe a

stipulation can now be done. Otherwise, you have to

show "good cause" which means whatever reason you

can show which a court will think reasonable.
