Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in California

Request

Hello, I'm a mother a one. I am going

through an appeal Pro-se. My ex-

husband just two days ago requested

the recorder's transcripts. I want to

do a joint appendix. Is this o.K for me

to do?. Is it better for me to do it

seperatly?. When do I let my ex-

husband's attorney that i want to do

a joint appendix? and my last

question is can I fax or mail him a

letter requesting this or do I have to

do it through a court form?. Thank

you

Re: Request

A joint appendix is something the parties (through their attorneys or pro se) arrange informally. You can't force your ex to do this, however. He is allowed to file a separate appendix even if you prefer a joint appendix. Note that, if he opts for a separate appendix, he will be required to include documents he reasonably expects you will want in addition to those he wants. If there are additional documents you want the Court to consider, you will be able to file a separate appendix along with your brief.
