Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Bankruptcy 1

My question is this, my x-wife filed bankrupcy while we were still married and i never had to sign anything. I didn't want to file bankrupcy but it seems that regarding my accounts thats what happened. Would my wife of needed my signature for this? thank you

Re: Bankruptcy 1

One spouse can file a bankruptcy petition without the other spouse filing. In California, the Trustee will look to all of the community assets, including joint checking accounts. I am unsure of your reference to accounts (ie., credit card accounts or savings/checking accounts). Creditors may close credit card accounts even though you did not file the bankruptcy.
