Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Credit consolidation payment after chp 7

I hear a rumor that the bankruptcy law has been changed. Even if one files a chapter 7 for personal bankruptcy, one still have to continue making the credit consolidation payments? Is this true? What normally will the credit consolidation company do if one files chapter 7?

Not true, but there are changes proposed to the laws to make it more difficult to qualify for a Chapter 7. Normally, all unsecured debts will be part of those discharged in a Chapter 7, unless they fall into an exception, which include child support, student loans, willful torts and fraud, among others.
