Legal Question in Business Law in California

Buniness promotion

A local restaurant/bar had this promotion and it was one of the main reasons I visited. The way it worked was you filled out a short application and then for every different type of Tequila you drank you got a metal tag with the corresponding number on it. after you reached 100 unique Tequilas you got your name on the wall and a T-shirt. I went in the other night to find that the promotion has been stopped as they 40% owner was forced out of the business and he took the stamping unit with him. What is worse is the owners do not think the promotion was profitable so the have stopped it and I'm already a third of the way done with my ring. Obviously they have upped the price a little to cover the cost of the rings and t-shirt, but can they really stop this without advanced notice?
