Contract question

If you put an x in the signature line of a contract, to indicate where the customer is to sign, does that void the contract?

Re: Contract question

Unless special facts, such as no place to sign or appeared to prevent signature (because X so mnprominent that it filled the line or something like that) the X would not void the contract. Does not change meaning of anything nor is it something that must be accepted or rejected.

Re: Contract question

Generally no.

Further, (and aside from your question), if the signator is illiterate, an "X" may be considered the person's "mark" and therefore accepted as the signature.
