Legal Question in Business Law in California

Hi,

I have a question about the usage of the word "academy" when referring to or describing a business.

May the business legally refer to itself as "X beauty products and skin care academy" if the business, in addition to supplying beauty products, also provides training thereon?

Thank you

As far as I know, a business may use the word "Academy" in its name, irrespective of what it does.......it may be a bar and grill, or a railroad, or a fishing boat operation.

There are a few words whose use in a business name are restricted by law. These include "bank" and "trust company" and maybe a few others, possibly "insurance", but academy is not one of them.
