should an inspecting a timing belt be considered labor?? my timing belt recently blew only 3 months under 10k after being inspected by a mechanic. i feel the inspection was not done and i would like to use the labor warranty i have that the shop gave me.

Inspecting a timing belt would be considered "labor" (rather than "materials"), but I don't believe passing inspection three months ago warrants that it won't disintegrate later on. You'd have to prove either that (1) the inspection wasn't made and that if it were made it would have revealed the defect, or (2) that the inspection was made and that the person making it failed to notice a noticeable defect. Either one is probably gonna be tough to prove. I bet on the shop if there is a lawsuit.
