legal doc ink color

When signing binding documents I was told to sign in blue so when copies are made you can seperate the copies from the originals. Is this true?

Using blue ink is a good idea for the reason you describe, but it is not required by law.

Yes. It's not a legal requirement, but we lawyers shuffle lots of paper and make lots of copies of stuff; and having blue ink signatures on the originals makes it easier to find them.
