WHEN A PERSON SENDS A PACKAGE C.O.D THEY ASK FOR PAYMENT OF THE VALUE OF THE PRODUCT THAT HAS BEEN SHIPPED ....

WHY WOULD A PERSON THEN HAVE TO DECLARE VALUE OF THAT PACKAGE?

QUESTION ...ISNT THE "DECLARED VALUE" OF THAT PACKAGE DETERMINED BY THE C.O.D DOCUMENTATION??? iI TRULY BELIEVE IT IS HOWEVER ID LIKE TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ?

As you might imagine, if the recipient has made any previous payments and/or the remaining balance is different from the actual value of the contents, you can see how and why the COD amount may be different from the value of the package.

No, for many reasons the "declared value" and the amount to be collected on delivery may differ. The reasons include partial prepayment and the possibility that the package may contain items of value for which no payment is required. Or, the sender may be collecting its price for the item, which may be higher than its cost.
