Legal Question in Business Law in California

verbal contract

I offered a man a certain price for his horse, he called me later that night and said he would take it we made arrangements for me to pick it up in 2 days, that morning he called me and said another person had come and bought it the day before. Do i have a right to sue him in small claims for a verbal contract being broken?

Re: verbal contract

Yes he did breach the oral contract. You do have cause to sue him in court. However, you would have to proove you were damaged and that the damages warrant monetary compensation. If you had put down some kind of deposit and he refused to return it than you would have been damaged. There are some other avenues to show proof of damages, but I would need additional information before I could give you further legal advice on the matter. You are welcome to email me any information you feel shows you were damaged, and I will be happy to give you my thoughts on the matter. My email is [email protected].
