Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

hi I've been staying in a exented stay type of hotel for a few months and in the city of ontario california when you stay for more then 28 day your room charge becomes tax exempt because you are then considerd a resident. today i found out by the general manger that the owner wants to kick every guest out that has been here for more 28 out then make them reregister so they are no lonhger considered tax exempt, so the guest are not aloud to stay nomore then 28 days so the guest have no choice but to pay tax on the rooms i justed wanted to if that is legal or not.

Most hotels require guests to check out and reregister after 28 days. If they didn't do this in your case, they will have to evict you same as an apartment tenant. So don't be quick to leave. See caltenantlaw.com
