Right to demand identification
I live in a mobilehome park (De Anza) now operated by the city of San Diego. They have hired private guards to monitor ingress into the park. Although all residents have had car stickers to identify themselves as residents, the new management has demanded that we provide private information to them in order to obtain a new sticker which we MUST have or they will require that we show drivers license each time we enter the park. We are confident that these actions are just part of an ongoing harrassment so that the city can get rid of us. (Our homeowner's assn. is suing the city.)
We know that the private guards are entering drivers license information into a computer and bringing up private information (warrants, driving restrictions, etc.) and causing individuals to be reported to the police. (Not that I have any thing on my record but some people do!) Isn't there something about ''probable cause'' that prevents them from demanding ID. What legal rights do we have in this case?

Your remedy would be with the HOA, why not raise the issue and ask for a vote. Call me directly at (619) 222-3504.
