If my someone gives another person an automoblie, then a few years later gets upset and decides he/she'd like the car back, does he/she hold the legal right to take this vehicle back?

It depends who paid the loan, who is on title, who maintained the car, the reason for wanting it back, etc.

Was there a writing? Was the pink slip signed over, etc.?

These are rhetorical questions. I don't need the answers, but the automobile holder should have these answers handy.
