Legal Question in Construction Law in California

Construction Noise

This isn't that important but I was really curious about a zoning/construction law. My neighbors are remodeling their house and their construction crew is here often. This Sunday morning they woke me at 7:30 in the morning. Isn't there a law against all construction work on Sundays? Also, what are the regular times during which construction can take place in a residential area?

There is no general statewide prohibition against construction work on Sundays. Noise, including limits on its level (decibels) and the time of day and day of the week it can be produced, is a city-by-city matter covered by local ordinances. Ask at City Hall.

Check your local municipal code -- noise restrictions (for all kinds of noise, not just construction) are usually in there.
