Number of Members Needed for Class Action Certification

In California tract home construction defect cases where all injured parties have the same type of defects, what is the minimum numbers of members needed to have a suit certified as a class action?

There is no minimum number that I have ever seen. Obviously the more class representatives you have, the better sampling you have of the common defects. It is really within the discretion of the court.

What you really should do is contact a law firm that specializes in construction defect litigation to get a better answer. In the late 1990's and early 2000's, this type of litigation became more common because builders will no longer building many condominiums and defects bagan to popup in single family homes. There are plenty of firms with class action litigation experience that can bette answer your question.
