Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

I have 2 credit cards in default of about 6 months, $25,000 worth, I'd like to pay but I can't right now. Just got a warning letter of litigation, contemplating bankruptcy, but do not want too. Any advice?

Most people won't ever be able to pay back $25,000, especially if it goes to judgment at 10% interest. Explore your aversion to bankruptcy with a qualified lawyer or shrink.

Reconsider bankruptcy. Get some free bankruptcy consults. If you still don't want to do it, then maybe consider putting up a fight or settling with the creditors. If the debt has been assigned to a junk debt buyer, you might have a shot at beating it in court. If you go up against the original creditor, your odds of winning a fight aren't as good.
