Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Should I appeal and how can I requested for information to be release?

On May 30, 2002 my then finance sold his car to his co-worker for $200. She then filed a small claim court sue against him six months later for $3000. She claims that he sold it to her for $1500 and took five days off work for the car. The evidence that she presented to the judge was a transaction slip to obtain cash from a bank that same day that she withdrawn $1500 and wrote his name at the bottom. She also had her boyfriend speak as a witness. She also had a letter from a mechanic dated two and a half months after the car was sold to her stating that it is in bad shape. My husband has only with him a copy of the DMV registration that she filled out that she bought the car for $200. She gave the judge her pay stub for the day she took off work for mid July. And I am not sure for what. The judge questioned why anyone would sell a '91 Nissian Aaxes for $200. My husband sold it for $200 because he brought in for $200 in 2000 from a non-profit foundation. When his co-worker complaint that she didn't have a car to drive her kids and he sold it to her because we were getting married and I have a car. How can we also request the plaintiff to release her boyfriend work history so that we can prove that he wasn't there?

Best to appeal the decision ASAP. You should also have some documentation to show that he paid $200 fo the car.
