Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

What does a used car salesman have to tell you about a vehicle?

At a dealership, does a used car salesman have to tell you that a convertable top has a large split that they have glued shut? The top split open the first time the top was lowered and then raised again and that gets worse everytime it is opened and then raised again? The vehicle was purchased in an ''as is'' condition, but the top had no split at that time as it was glued shut.

Thanks much for any information you can offer.

Re: What does a used car salesman have to tell you about a vehicle?

My Dad tells the story of the time he bought a used car at night. The following day, he could see that the door and body were different colors.

Next time you buy a used convertible "as is," operate the top first.
