Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

The check engine-yellow light in the dashboard of my car lit on so I took it to the mechanic. He told me he was gonna perform a diagnosis on the vehicle first to determine where the problem was, this was gonna cost me $40 dollars just to find out what was wrong in the engine so I agreed. Two hours later he called me and said you need to do a major tune up in your car which includes change of oil, spark plugs, brand new oil filter, air filter the whole nine yard, I paid him $400 dollars. Then the red battery light went on. So he said oh the problem is the generator this is gonna cost you $95 dollars so I paid him. At this point everything was going fine. Two days later the check engine-yellow light lit on again. So I took my car back to the mechanic, he said he was gonna check it. Two hours later he called and said the problem is in the cathalytic converter, this is gonna cost you $200 dollars more. So I paid him. On the way back home I turn my car on and this fucking yellow light still on. DAMN IT, I am so pissed off and frustrated right now. Can somebody help me out please

Not knowing the full condition of your car I cannot comment on what is wrong, so you have two option either take it back to him and ask him what is going on and request a fuller explanation of why you are having all these problems after you paid so much money to fix the problems or take it to someone else and ask their opinion After you get their advice if he screwed up then call him and ask him to fix or refund you money. If he refuses take him to small claims

(under $7500.00) court to get some of your money back.

Hope this helps and good luck.
