who's checking the camera's

I was returning 3 items the other day at a major department store--2 of the items were gifts and i did not have a receipt for them (but when I walked into the store the customer service lady gave me a sticker to show that I HAD COME INTO THE STORE WITH THE ITEMS IN MY BAG--I ACUALLY NEVER REALLY WENT INTO THE STORE-JUST IN THE FRONT WHERE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PLACE IS.THE OTHER ITEM I DID HAVE MY RECEPT FOR AND I RETURNED IT WITH NO PROBLEM-WHEN I WENT TO RETURN THE ''GIFTS'' I GUESS I HAD ALREADY EXCEEDED THE 3 RETURNS WITHOUT RECEIPT POLICY(WITHIN 1 YEAR)AND I ASKED THE GIRL IF I COULD GO OUT TO MY CAR AND GET MY BOYFRIEND TO RETURN IT(HE HAD JUST GOT OFF WORK AND WAS GRUBBY AND DIDNT WANT TO GO INTO THE STORE AT THE TIME -WE CAME BACK INTO THE STORE and the GIRL RETURNED IT AND GAVE HIM THE GIFT CARD --WELL I TRIED TO USE THE CARD AND IT had NOTHING ON it -so I CALLED THE # ON THE BACK OF THE CARD AND THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS X AMOUNT OF DOLLARS ON THE CARD AND THAT i should go back to the store and have them call them--which i did -I told the guy that it should be on the servanlance camera-HE SAID THAT IT SHOWED ON THE CAMERA THAT I WAS GIVEN BACK MY ITEMS--THATS A LIE--WHAT CAN I DO TO PROVE I WAS NOT GIVEN BACK MY ITEMS

Any available witness testimony that shows or states otherwise should suffice under the circumstances. You should have a legal demand letter sent to try to resolve the unfortunate situation out of court first, and if that fails, you should promptly proceed to small claims court to remedy the matter if your claim is for $7500 or less. Have the people who give you gifts get gift receipts. That way you won't appear to be a shoplifter, or someone in cahoots with a shoplifter, who steals items and then returns them to the store claiming they were "gifts."
