Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Failure to deliver goods

I placed an order for goods through the website of a company located in CA (I am in RI). They have failed to deliver in 2.5 months and have stopped responding to my emails for a month now. All of their phone lines, even to their physical store, are closed. A charge for the goods was made through a GE line of credit which I have closed and am sending paperwork in to dispute the charge. No amount is due on the account until September and no amount has been paid by me on it yet. The BBB website indicates that the company in question is closing and might be filing for bankruptcy soon.

I was wondering what my rights are and if they get bankruptcy protection what that does to my chances of resolution.

Re: Failure to deliver goods

You need to dispute it with GE or contact an attorney in CA to see if you can determine the status of the company and whether a lawsuit against them may be viable.
