Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

My mother in law has a Living Trust in place where my husband is the Trustee and beneficiary when she dies...She has went to get a condicil to put my husbands daughter on it and she is saying that this condicil overwrites the Living Trust. Is this true or not?

A codicil is used to change the terms of a will. An amendment changes the terms of the trust. In any case, while she is alive and competent, she can change the successor trustee and/or beneficiaries as long as she follows appropriate legal formalities in doing so.
