Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Tenants Rights in the state of California

Is it true that in the state of California refridgerators are not provided for tenants in apartment complexes? I had a landlord tell me this when asked where the refridgerator was before signing the lease.

It is not mandatory. If the apartment complex advertises that it includes a refrigerator, then they need to provide it. Generally, rents will be a little lower if there is no refrigerator.
