Civil Money Judgement

I have not paid a traffic ticket i received while on a trip in los angeles, calif. I have been handed over to a collection agency in texas. What legal actions can culver municiple court do to me as i live in texas?

They can't do much to you, and any threat of suit is probably an empty one. On the other hand, they could notify Texas DMV, but even that isn't very likely. I would ignore it unless planning to come back to California.

Thanks for your posting. For the most part, unless there was a warrant for your arrest for failure to appear, which can be filed as a crime, you just have a civil judgment. The court, directly or through the collections agency, can put the failure to pay on your credit report, or can get a "sister state judgment" and garnish wages, or take property in Texas, although that would be rare.
