Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Judgment. Can it be re file?

I tried to file for BK in 1992, but it was dismissed. A collection agency had file a judgment for a funeral debt ( unsecure) before the BK. They never contact me again. Last week I called this company to make arragements for payments on medical bills, wich they agree, and they realiza that I was the same person I owe money for the funeral home, in 1990.

They promised to send me a letter by fax as payment in full of my medical bill but they did not, instead they start harassing me over the phone Now they are telling me I owe them almost double of the original judgement.I told them that I will more than happy to make a payment plan, but he told me that his client had waited 10 years and there were no plans.

Can they re-file the same judgement? can they do it for more money than the original amount?

Re: Judgment. Can it be re file?

Yes, the judgement can be renewed and if the judgment called for interest, the balance can be more.
