Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I live in california and my car loan was originally with Wachovia who then sold it to Wells Fargo dealer services. I would like to know if it is okay for the people at Wells Fargo to call and leave many, many messages at my work, if I am a couple of weeks behind with my car payment? I feel like this should be considered harassment but can they legally do that?

It is not OK for any debt collector in California to repeatedly call you at work. On the other hand, they can repo your car at any time, so maybe they are doing you a favor.
