Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

My mom was diagnosed with cancer 12/27/10 and she passed away 3/1/11. my mom had no will or assets except a house that were buying together. were both on the deed and in our 17th year of a 30 year mortgage. my mom has credit card dept totaling 10,000 dollars spread out on 5 different cards, are they able to come after the house or me for this money. i'm in riverside, california. thank you.

You would only be obligated on the house.
