Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Nonrefundable retainer fee

I signed on with a tax relief group to help with some IRS problems. We set up a payment plan to have fees taken directly from my bank. Within 6 weeks the IRS levied my bank account. I would like to terminate my agreement with this company because they are not doing their jobs. Do I still have to makes the payments to them?

What's a "tax relief group"? Are they lawyers? Enrolled agents? Did you get references? Why would you give anybody your bank account number? Anyway, unless they are lawyers or IRS enrolled agents, or you have thoroughly researched them, I would not have anything to do with them.
