Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Stolen Credit Card using my name

A sporting goods company sent a letter to my nephew and me stating we owed $56.70 for an item we never purchased. I called them and they said it was purchased with a stolen credit card. My nephew knows who had it sent in our names, but she has skipped town. I told this to the sporting goods company and paid the bill with a money order. Should I go to the police, too?

Yes, you should go to the police and make a report to the credit bureaus that your identity has been stolen.
