Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

forgery charges

help please, i have been charged with 6 counts of forgery, spent one nite in jail, and got out on $12,000 bail. I am wondering what may be done to me in court by the judge. I have never been into any trouble with the law, and the total amount of the checks i forged were less than $1000 thanks.TH in louisiana

Re: forgery charges

as with any crime, you would be subject to up to the maximum fine and/or incarceration period for each count you may be convicted upon. if you do not currently have an attorney, you absolutely want to at least consult with one to find out what the maximum penalties are in respect to each count of the crimes you are charged with. further, an attorney could definitely assist you in your plea bargaining with the DA or helping you secure leniency thru the court probably alot better than you could on your own as a lay person, especially if you have no other prior incidents or convictions on your record to date.

you definitely do not want to delay in consulting with an attorney on all of this. if you would like such a free phone consultation, email us directly with your contact information today.
