Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Public Records Search in Lue of a Gov Clearance Job Shows a criminal hit

Thank you for your service. Ok, I'm filling out documents to secure a job as in the government and decided to look myself up in a public records search site, it cost 60$ and was pretty accurate but missing a lot of information.

My Question is, They Show a Criminal Court Record with an Offense ''Not Specified By State'', but they do have a case number out of Fresno California and a Date Reported. There is also some information about the the Source State as being the ''AOCDOCCORTS''.

How can I find out more information about this Case Number out of Fresno California for a Criminal Record Search?

Any Idea what any of this means?

Name:

MY NAME WAS HERE

Date of Birth:

MY BIRTHDAY WAS HERE

Source State:

AOCDOCCourts

County:

Date Reported(CA):

08/07/2008

Offense: 1

NOT SPECIFIED BY STATE

Offense State:

CA

Offense County:

FRESNO

Case Number:

B96003941-2

There might well exist people with your exact name and DOB. Or some individual could have stolen your identity - have you checked your credit report? I doubt that the clearance investigators will believe you live bicoastally in the West Village and Fresno.

Generally those public records searches turn up stuff that does not really show up on your actual background search through proper channels... If the charge was not yours I wouldn't worry too much, unless an official background search turns it up as well, then I would consider hiring an attorney in that area to go in to court and clarify the record...

Much luck!

Ps. Depending on what govt job you apply for they allow you some leeway to discuss anything that may come up... Like I said, I'd wait till then to take serioud asctions

Options are:

Hire an actual PI to confirm

Attempt to. Contact court.

yourself with a case #

Hire a lawyer in the immediate

Area to go to court for you
