search warrants

aren't all search warrants supposed to have a seal stamped on it? also should have a search warrant nunber right? also the property reciept is not legable and when i inquired on th report number givin on that reciept it was a report on a brglurized vehicle! nothing to do with the police invading my home and privacy! the lady in records said there is no report number for them coming to my home only an event log number. what can i do?

Re: search warrants

Search warrants must be signed by a magistrate or judge. There is no "seal" requirement. It does not necessarily have to have a "number" although it usually has some kind of case number or law enforcement number for tracking. Are you being charged with something? Clearly there is a mix up in the report. But if you are not being charged, what do you think you should be able to do? What are you trying to accomplish?
