Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

victim's rights

My brother was murdered in California in 1982. What are my rights in his case (i.e. retrieving his belongings, obtaining information on the case, etc.).

Re: victim's rights

I am sorry your brother was murdered 26 years ago.

You could contact the police and district attorney in whatever city or county it happened in, but why did you wait so long? The evidence from the case is probably still in the basement of the county courthouse, and you could probably at least view it by contacting the court clerk's office, but I wouldn't hold out much hope for retrieving any other belongings of his.
