Wittness to a murder

I was an eye wittness to my friends murder. The trial begins August 16. I want to be there but I have a job on a cruise ship that leaves in two weeks and the cruise runs for six weeks.

This is my first job on the ship. Jobs on cruise ships are not easy to find. I didn't want to jepordize my chances. Neither do I want to share my personal business with the management of the cruise line at this point in time.

Can I send an affidavit to the District Attorner or possibly testify in court when I get back for my two week break?

You should contact the district attorney immediately and ezlain your situation to him or her. They will work with you to accomodate your work schedule to the extent possible.
