Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California

Volunteering

Dear lawyer,

I am foreign graduated with a doctorate degree.I am permanent resident of US.

I worked as an research associate for free for 4 years in volunteering setting in an university department in CA.M y director promised me verbally to get me in that residency program if I worked there for years. I have more than 4 strong recommendation letters from chairman, associate program director, cheif, and my director that I am an excellent candidate for this position. Now after these hard working, participating in many studies and spending lots of money and time there, I realized that not only they lied me but also erased my name from study that I was part of that and my name was in draft. Now they are telling me they won't get position to foreign graduate. I am totally abused. Please help me to know if there is any way for me to claim my right?

Thank you

Re: Volunteering

Number of questions need to be answered before it is clear whether or not we can help you. We need to see your volunteer paper work to see what were the terms of your volunteer work agreement. Also, we need to know what type of work your performed, and if you have any evidence of their promises (i.e. emails, witnesses, etc...) you can contact me to give me more information.
