is it ok to drive in us using idl even you are already over stayed your visa for morethan 6 months

The police can give you a misdemeanor citation for driving without a license, and to avoid conviction you would have to show the court proof of residency and auto insurance in your home country. The police are not concerned about your overstaying your visa, although if you were to be arrested there's a good possibility your visa status would be discovered and you'd be deported.
