DUI affect on L1 Visa status

One of our employees working in california on an L1 permit has managed to get a DUI. Although not yet found guilty he intends to plead that way. What will the consequences be to his ability to work in the state?

He will lose his driver's license for 6 months and will have to serve some time on the weekend work program or county jail. In addition to that he will be required to pay a hefty fine. It is unlikely that the ins will be alerted to the situation. Generally a misdemeanor is not grounds for removal from the country.
