The Navy, or any branch of the armed forced won't take anyone on probation. You should try to get a diversion program fronm the judge, so that your son doesn't lose his drivers licence for 1 year, as well as the diversion program is relatively short. If your son pleads, he WILL lose his license, the conviction will be on his record, but there is no probation, if the charge is an infraction. I would try for diversion. I wish you well...... Mr. Wallin is correct and I agree with him. However, I would suggest hiring an attorney to assist you with this matter. Diversion is the way to go. It is possible to achieve the results your seeking without an attorney. However, I highly suggest you hire an attorney if you want your best shot at getting a diversion program.

Good luck
