Legal Question in Elder Law in California

My mother has been manic depressive for the last 33 years. She has been in and out of mental institutions. Within the last 5 weeks she has tried to kill herself and my younger sister who also has mental issues and is off her meds picked her up but did not take her to the hospital like my mothers dr told her too. She took her to her house and self treated her and within a week my mother tried to kill herself again. During the last 4 weeks this same sister has threatened my mom that unless she signed a power of attorney she was going to quit caring for her and kick her out. My mother just signed it because she said that she has caused Leslies mental breakdown by what she did and signed the paper. How can this be valid? How can we contest it and what can we do to protect her. She is being abused mentally and her 3 other daughteres fear for her life if she stays. Leslies own daughter left the house because she told her mother that she was crazy and was killing her grandma and If she stayed with her she would die. My mother told me she wanted to stay with me and my husband but after being around leslie to sign checks was afraid to leave

You need to file elder abuse charges against your sister, and file to be made your mother's conservator. Otherwise there is nothing you can do.
