Legal Question in Elder Law in California

I am from San Bernardino, California. What can I do about my aunt"b"'s conservator-ship? My aunt"a" is conservator of my other aunt"b", but aunt"a" is abusive, She hits me, threatens my life and my cousin's, and explodes verbally, refuses to buy food or toiletries as "punishment" when aunt"b" or I make her angry. I have no proof because I was told it's illegal to record her. I only have my word and the word of aunt"b"'s son. aunt"b" herself is schizophrenic and has delusions, she isn't reliable as a witness. aunt"a" said she would kill me and do "whatever it takes" to make sure I "never take conservator-ship away from her". Can I get my aunt"b" appointed to a court conservator without aunt"a" finding out? She lies a lot and she is very violent, I am afraid of her and I believe her when she says she will kill me if I tell on her. But I don't want her around my aunt"b" anymore. I don't know what to do.

So sorry to hear of this situation. You can start by checking out the webpage of the San Bernadino County Department of Aging and Adult Services. http://hss.sbcounty.gov/daas/programs/APS.aspx

A couple of suggestions - first, feel free to contact Adult Protective Services and lodge a complaint. You could also contact the Probate Court Investigator's office, or Aunt B's court appointed attorney (if she has one). You can even call the police.

If you want to take legal action on behalf of your conserved Aunt, contact a trusts and estates attorney in San Bernardino County and consider petitioning the court to appoint you or even a professional fiduciary as your Aunt's conservator.
