Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California

Is it legal for Pop Warner football to require players to stay at a Disney property or not be allowed to participate in the championship game. We were told by our Challenger (special needs) representative that we could stay somewhere else, so I booked other accomodations and purshased Disney tickets. Now they say my son has to purchase the Disney package or will not be allowed on the field. What can we do?

I would call the Orange County Register and ask to speak to a reporter.

Without actually reviewing the Pop Warner Contract and associated documents therewith at the time you signed your Son up to play PopWarner Football,I would say that Pop Warner has the right to require all taveling Team Players to stay at the same hotel for saftey,Team Discount, convience to the coaches and players and possibly insurance based reasons.

I'd purchase the Pop Warner Disney package, stay with the Team and not subject my Son to the sanction of not playing in the "Championship Game".

Act quickly and you might be able to get a full refund on the other package.
