Legal Question in Family Law in California

He's 18 do I still owe support

he still is in high school and my divorce papers state child support is due and payable until terminated by operation of law or further order of the court.

The question is what is terminated by operation meaning? Can I cease payments today? or do I have to wait until he graduates high school?

In a general sense, under California law, when a child turns 18 and is still in high school and residing with a parent, child support extends to age 19 or completion of high school, whichever first occurs.

For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!
