back pay on child support
My father has never paid child support as the court ordered, and my mom stopped pursuing it because he was always in jail. We are now 34 & 36, and our mother has raised us on her own always working 2 jobs to support us. My father has now come into a large amount of money, in which I feel should be garnished to pay the child support that he has never paid. Is that possible?? How do I go about, or what steps should I take?? What can be done??

It certainly is possible. You should retain an attorney who does child support collection. The collection process itself should be relatively easy and may in fact be attached before he has notice that the collection was to be accomplished so that he can hide the funds. Start immediately. Yes -- there are procedures whereby you can seek back child support payments. You might think about starting on this sooner than later as you father may go through his new wealth very quickly.
