Legal Question in Family Law in California

Birth name

When I was born, my father was using an alias name which is on my birth certificate. My father married my mother (El Salvadorian) and was neccearry to use his orig birth name. when I got my SS number,we used my father orig birth name and stated my birth as name as AKA. My SS card states only my orig birth name. I'm having trouble getting a driving License with a SS name and birth cert in another. I want to keep my father original name which is on my SS card and used all these years. HELP THANKS

Re: Birth name

In this situation, probably the best thing to do would be to apply for a name change. Once you get an order, you can probably take that to dmv. It will take 6 months to a year to get a new birth certificate.
